Ten Top Tips for Employees to Get Involved:
1. Make sure the charity work you do is relevant to your employees – get them to vote on your ‘Charity of the Year’
2. Set targets for your employees to work towards and then celebrate when they’re reached
3. Have a CSR committee and invite employees to sit in on it
4. Organise charity events that are fun and lively so that people are eager to join in
5. Celebrate your charitable work – have an awards ceremony or a special dinner to recognise the best fundraising departments
6. Get senior members of staff to do something high profile and looking silly eg. Gardening at an old persons’ home for an afternoon, wearing fancy dress at a local children's party or being Father Christmas at a school
7. Organise for friendly rivalries between your competitors – either in terms of amounts raised or actual events such as football matches or sports days
8. Publicise your charity work internally in newsletters, on the intranet and in company meetings
9. Invite local and trade media to cover your higher profile events
10. Make charity work more of a partnership between the company and your employees by matching any donations they make

Your business can get a great deal of exposure by supporting The Martlets through sponsorship. We have many advertising opportunities in our publications as well as events that need sponsoring. Aligning your business with a local cause such as The Martlets is a sound marketing choice.
Volunteering
There are plenty of rewarding volunteering opportunities at The Martlets and we are always looking for assistance at our fundraising events.
Gifts In Kind
Lots of companies have excess stock or items that would be useful to us in raffles or auctions. You might be refurbishing and have some spare equipment that we could make of use of.
