Noon Walk 2013 - Sunday 13th October

Noon Walkers Defy the Downpour to Raise Money

This year's Noon Walk is expected to raise almost £8,000. Despite awful weather all of the registered men turned up on the day to take part in the 13 mile walk along the seafront.  Altogether around 60 men took part and we are very pleased to say that they all made it back safely.

Those taking part included Chief Inspector Simon Nelson who walked with his two teenage sons, the youngest participants, on the day.

Simon did a huge amount to help promote the walk and between them Team Nelson raised over £400. Simon tweeted about their experience all the way around the course and recieved lots of support on the way.

A team of six walkers called Stoke's Blokes also took part in the event in memory of Jude Stokes, who died at the hospice in August. Jude raised a lot of money for the hopsice in the months leading up to her death and has inspired many different fundraising events as a tribute to her.
