How Can We Help?
Our Macmillan Volunteer Welfare Benefits Advisers are able to offer practical support with:
- Welfare Benefit entitlement checks
- Applying for Welfare Benefits, whether that's completing forms, making phone calls or letter writing
- Accessing Macmillan and other charitable grants
- Applying for help with health costs, such as travel to hospital
- Applying for transport concessions, such as a disabled parking badge
- Benefits appeals and decisions
- Referrals to other service providers
This is a volunteer based home-visiting and outreach welfare benfits advice service for people affected by advanced cancer or other life limiting illnesses.

About the Project
This project is led by Age UK Brighton & Hove, working in partnership with the Martlets and the Sussex Community Palliative Care Team. It's funded for three years by Macmillan Cancer Support and began in January 2011.
