What Is the Legal Clinic?

It is a free fortnightly clinic for patients, families and carers. It takes place on a Thursday between 9 and 11am and is held in Martlets Day Services. Each clinic, a solicitor from a different local firm is available for consultation. Appointments are 30 minutes long and must be booked.

How Can the Legal Clinic Help?

The clinic can help with making plans for the future and with answering questions relating to things such as wills, lasting power of attorney or family members having to take time off paid employment. Anything you discuss with the solicitor will remain confidential.

What If I Need Further Legal Help?

If you require further legal advice you will be able to make your own decision as to how to engage with a legal firm. You will not be obliged to continue with the solicitor you meet at the Legal Clinic if you do not wish to do so. Please note, Martlets Hospice is not responsible for the advice given or for decisions you choose to make.

Who Can Use the Service?

The service is part of Martlets Day Services and is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, living in and around Brighton and Hove and has been referred to the Martlets Hospice. The service is free.
