Employee Fundraising & Volunteering Opportunities

Employee Fundraising - can be fun, challenging and rewarding. As well as encouraging team development, it’s a great way of supporting local people and generating goodwill amongst your staff, customers and the wider community. Look no further for inspiration as our Corporate Fundraiser can give you lots of ideas from tried and tested fundraising events to more unusual initiatives. We can help you organise your fundraising, provide fundraising materials and help you promote your event.

Southern Railway are delighted to support Martlets Hospice and we are so pleased that we have raised £13,000 so far. Our staff have worked incredibly hard to organise all manner of events to raise money. From cake sales, paintballing and collections, to football tournaments and cycling the length of the Southern Railway network on static bikes, staff have really got on board and had great fun whilst raising money. We are proud to do our bit to support Martlets Hospice which is so vital to the Brighton & Hove community and helps so many terminally ill people every year.”

Volunteering – these days, more and more volunteers are coming from the corporate sector and there are opportunities for groups both large and small, one-off or regular, working indoors and outdoors.

Have fun in the sun in the Hospice gardens, doing planting, digging and weeding. This is important work as our patient bedrooms look out onto our gardens so we need to keep them as attractive as possible for our patients and their visitors.

Or, join us in our fundraising warehouse, helping sort through the many donated items of clothing, bric-a-brac and books that are donated to our charity shops. This indoor work is available all year round, for individuals and groups large and small.

I nominated the Martlets as our charity for this year as two of my friends spent their final days at the hospice and it is a cause that is very close to my heart. We spent a tiring but very rewarding day volunteering in the gardens. Volunteering enabled us to give something back as a team whilst having fun and we came away with a better understanding of the vital work the hospice does in our community.”
