How Can Martlets Art Therapy Help?

Art Therapy can help if you have difficulty talking about your feelings. You may have things to say but can't find the right words or you may be worried that what you want to say out loud might be too difficult for others to hear.

Being creative can provide a different way of expressing inner thoughts and feelings. It doesn’t matter whether you are ‘good at art’, your work will not be judged.

What Will We Be Doing?

We will be working with paint, clay and pastels to get messy, be angry or have fun. We can help you make memory boxes, face casts, masks, and much more, to explore what might be happening in your life.

We will be working in a group, which will run for six weeks so you’ll have the chance to share your thoughts and experiences if you wish to.

The Martlets Art Therapy Group meets on Friday afternoons and each course runs for six weeks.

Who We Are

The group will be facilitated by Judith Williams, who works at the Martlets and is a qualified art therapist.

Who Can Use The Service?

This service is part of Martlets Day Services and is open to anyone who has been diagnosed with a life limiting illness, living in and around Brighton & Hove. If you’d like to join the group talk to your healthcare professional or GP about a referral.

The group is free of charge but if you're able to we'd appreciate a donation of £10 per session.
