At Martlets Day Services we provide therapeutic support for patients and their carers who are living at home with a serious life limiting illness.
The aim of these services is to maximise independence and quality of life, the services are flexible and offered thoughout the week.
The Martlets Cafe is open 8am - 3.30pm serving hot drinks and delicious snacks, everyone is welcome to pop in and it's a great place to enjoy a coffee before your visit to Day Services.
Who Can Use Martlets Day Services?
These services are provided free of charge and are available to patients and their carers living in and around Brighton and Hove who have a life limiting illness. If you’d like to use any of our services talk you can self refer.
Acupuncture
Can be helpful for pain, nausea, anxiety, breathlessness and insomnia. The clinic runs on Monday afternoons from 2pm - 4pm. .
Welfare Benefits
A drop-in clinic is open on Wednesday afternoons for help with benefits check ups and applications.
Rehabilitation Service
Offers appointments with our Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist who can provide support on mobility transfer, fatigue management, exercise programmes and how to stay active. The clinic runs on Wednesdays 9am - 4pm.
Complementary Therapies
Light touch aromatherapy massage and reflexology is available for patients and carers on Thursday afternoons.
Legal Advice Clinic
Local solicitors will offer free legal advice and could help with questions about Wills, lasting power of attorney or family members taking paid time off. The clinic runs fortnightly on Thursdays 9am - 11am and appointments must be booked.
Art Therapy Group
Art therapy can help if you have difficulty talking about your feelings. We will be working with paint, clay and pastels to get messy and we can help you make memory boxes or explore what's happening in your life. The Art Therapy Group will run for courses of six weeks on Friday afternoons from 2pm - 4pm.
Good Vibrations Community Choir
If you've ever wanted to sing, join our singing workshops and become a member of our choir. You don't need experience just a love of music! Workshops run from March 2015, with weekly rehearsals starting in May.
